Creating floral paintings allows me to explore two sides of my artistic nature.
On one hand, I’m drawn to the discipline of botanical work — observing every curve of a petal, the structure of a stem, the delicate veining of a leaf. There’s something deeply satisfying about honouring a flower or fruit exactly as it is, studying its form and translating that detail with care and precision.
On the other, I love to loosen up and paint florals expressively — letting watercolour flow, ink bleed, colour bloom and mingle on the page. Here, it’s less about accuracy and more about energy, movement and feeling. It becomes intuitive, experimental, and wonderfully freeing, and working with perspective by cropping to make it even more aesthetically appealing.
Both approaches celebrate the same subject, but in entirely different voices — one quiet and meticulous, the other bold and alive. Together, they reflect the balance I’m always seeking in my work: control and spontaneity, structure and freedom.
My original paintings are often available locally, and if you can’t find the one you love in person, they’re also available to purchase online.
If an original has already found its forever home, fear not — I offer beautifully produced Giclée prints that retain all the detail and richness of the original work.
You’ll also find a carefully curated range of art-inspired pieces, including luxury cards, mugs, high-quality linen cushions, tote bags, coasters and other thoughtfully designed items – allowing you to enjoy my artwork in everyday life – on my Artful Living page.
