Painting landscapes and treescapes has been a revelation for me — a freedom from the discipline and precision of portraiture. It’s a welcome release to step into something fluid, expressive and experimental, allowing the paint to move and breathe in its own way.
And yet, before long, I find myself longing for the quiet focus of drawing again. The detail. The connection. The control.
I suppose I don’t have to choose — both are part of who I am as an artist.
My original paintings are frequently available to view and purchase locally, and if you’re unable to visit in person, a selection can also be bought online for convenience.
Should an original piece have already found its new home, I offer exceptional Giclée prints that faithfully capture the depth, detail and richness of the artwork.
Alongside these, you’ll discover a refined collection of art-inspired pieces — from luxury cards and elegant mugs to high-quality linen cushions, tote bags and coasters — thoughtfully created so you can bring a touch of artistry into your everyday surroundings. Often people will love a style of my art but would like it to go into their decor colour scheme so commission me to produce a piece just for them. Contact me if you’d like to discuss a unique piece.
LANDSCAPES
My landscapes often lean towards minimalism, as I focus on capturing light, atmosphere and a sense of space. By simplifying the scene, I allow the essential elements to breathe — creating a feeling of openness and quiet.
In doing so, I hope to express a sense of freedom, while also offering the viewer space of their own — room to imagine, wander and explore within the landscape.

TREESCAPES
My love of trees has been with me for as long as I can remember — I’m a self-confessed tree hugger. A walk with me can become wonderfully stationary, as I’ll happily stand and study a single tree for ages, photographing it, absorbing it. It’s all inspiration for my art.
I’m captivated by the fluidity of leaves and branches as they sway or fall, the rich texture of bark, the way a trunk tapers and stretches into reaching limbs. Shadows carve out contrast and unexpected shapes. Trees fascinate me — yet at the same time, they bring a deep sense of calm.
It isn’t about capturing them exactly as they are, but about taking their essence and inviting the viewer to step into that quiet solitude — to feel as though they are walking among them.
Using inks and watercolours, and plenty of water, I allow the expressive flow of the medium to form clumps of leaves and shifting canopies. I build contrast to suggest sunlight moving, flickering and reflecting — creating atmosphere rather than replication.
I hope the joy I feel in their presence quietly echoes through my work, and that sense of peace finds its way from me to you through every piece I create.

MOONSCAPES
When painting moonscapes I like to enhance the moon and any reflections using metallic paints giving a subtle shimmer, particularly effective when the paintings are lit correctly.

This is a small selection of my landscapes & treescapes. If there’s anyone particular painting you like, let me know. If it’s found it’s forever home, I can provide a Giclee print or canvas wrap.
